Hello, and welcome to my Blog.  My name is Barry Pekin, and I am the President of Computer Assist.  I'm also a Senior Internet Business Architect with over 30 years of experience in developing business solutions.

As I first established this Blog, it seemed appropriate to consider how to make the best use of it.  After some consideration, it seemed appropriate for this to be a combination of a voice for Computer Assist, and a conduit for addressing relevant technical and business topics.  You might find me wandering on to personal topics of family and my hobbies (like my few-found hobby of gardening), but for the vast majority, I will be sticking to the following:

• "How To" articles will present a structured explanation of a technical problem I've had to address, and how it was tackled.  I hope that these articles will help other developers and architects, as well as giving some insight to the creative process here at Computer Assist.
• "Technology Assessments" articles will address certain technologies along with an assessment as to their usefulness and effectiveness.  It's understood that many solutions fit some needs better than others, so I will try to keep this in mind.  However, I will almost certainly be a little biased toward how these technologies fit within the Computer Assist environment.
• "Internet Security" articles will address a topic I consider to be of significant importance.  There are many facets of Internet Security, so over time, this will be a fairly in-depth collection of articles. I plan to address personal security online, as well as protection of data from the perspective of solutions architecture.
• "Online Communities" articles will discuss topics of interest related to online communities.  Online Communities is a core consideration Computer Assist addresses in Internet solutions.  Read this topic to find out just why this is so important, and how we address it.
• "Technical Explorations" articles will be explorations of various technical topics of interest to me, so you can expect this to cover various technical topics related to various Internet technologies such as ASP.Net, Ajax, JavaScript, and more.

Other topics that I will most likely consider over time, and possibly expand are Personal Productivity, and Business Productivity and Development.  I'm also not mired in mud, so don't be surprised if other topics pop up.
